The Swedish baler manufacturer, Presona, has chosen Ferroplan as Finland's distributor. Interview with Hannes Tschirpke, head of sales for Finland
What does Presona do in a nutshell?
– We are one the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of balers with pre-pressing technology for efficient baling of the most varieties of material – from paper and plastic to household and industrial waste. The product range also includes pneumatic waste extraction systems for the graphics industry, paper and packaging manufacturers and sorting plants for household waste.
Why are the balers a top product?
– Presona has been making balers since the 1940s and in the 1960s we pioneered the concept of pre-press balers, a concept we have refined and developed ever since. The prepress technology creates consistent, high density bales. Furthermore, it cuts transport costs and uses significantly less power than conventional balers, thus making it a popular choice by customers in more than 65 countries all over the globe.
Why did you choose Ferroplan to work with in Finland?
– Presona doesn’t have a distributor in Finland yet and we are looking to evaluate prospective partners. Since Ferroplan designs and builds facilities for recycling and waste handling Ferroplan sounds like a great match for us. Like Presona Ferroplan also is an international company with a reputation for high quality products. Furthermore, Ferroplan has shown great commitment to Presona by dedicating resources to work with our products.
How do you see the common goals and values of the two companies?
– Well, first of all we would like to see an increase in sales in Finland. Ferroplan also has some interesting technical solutions (and the facilities to build them) that may benefit our current customers.
How can this cooperation profit the customers?
– We can of course combine Ferroplan and Presona products! Finnish baler customers also get someone to contact within their own country which in turn means easier and quicker access to service and all-round information about balers in the Finnish language. In the future Presona baler customers may also get a local service partner in Ferroplan.
